APPLICATION GUIDE / 01
Motocross graphics
Every panel.
A purpose.
Build your graphics around the surface, the contact points and the finish. Start with the part you want to cover.
Illustrative brand imagery. Material selection requires application-specific evaluation.
01 / THE APPLICATION
Choose your panel.
A number plate and a boot-contact area ask different things of a graphic. Explore the parts below before choosing your print film and overlaminate.
Shrouds & side panels
Curves. Plastic. Edge lift.
Textured or low-surface-energy plastics can be difficult to bond to. Panel shape and the complete laminated construction also affect edge behavior.
Start with a white print base and compare gloss or satin finishes. Evaluate the full construction on the actual panel.
Trade-offs & cutting notes
Check before production: A thicker construction can add stiffness. Confirm plastic type and edge stability before producing a full kit.
Plan the cut: Check make, model, year and aftermarket plastics. Paper-fit each piece; keep seams clear of removable panels.
Front & rear fenders
Flexing. Dirt. Exposed edges.
Repeated panel movement and cleaning make edge placement and construction flexibility important.
Compare finish and handling on a flexible panel sample.
Trade-offs & cutting notes
Check before production: Thickness alone does not establish wear resistance or suitability for a tight curve.
Plan the cut: Keep artwork within the intended panel area. Test bends, corner shapes and cleaning on a sample before final cutting.
Number plates
Make every number readable.
Busy artwork and reflective effects can reduce the contrast of numbers and sponsor logos.
Use a white base for key information and consider specialty effects in selected design areas.
Trade-offs & cutting notes
Check before production: Holographic and chrome effects change with light. Check printed contrast and any event requirements.
Plan the cut: Check the number at its intended viewing distance. Keep small lettering clear of seams and pronounced curves.
Boot & knee contact areas
Texture deserves its own test.
Frequent rider contact changes what matters: surface feel, cleaning and how the printed construction wears.
Compare textured overlaminate samples for appearance and feel.
Trade-offs & cutting notes
Check before production: Texture is not a verified grip or anti-slip rating. Evaluate wear and rider contact for your application.
Plan the cut: Use separate pieces for the contact zone so they can be evaluated and replaced independently.
These are starting points for material discussions, not validated combinations for every vehicle. Test the complete printed and laminated construction on the actual surface before production.
02 / MATERIAL OPTIONS
Start with the print base.
Compare the look, then discuss the overlaminate and surface compatibility. Open a product for details.
03 / PLAN THE JOB
From panel to production.
01. Identify the surface
Confirm the vehicle, year, panel material and condition. Share close-up photos, especially for textured plastics or repainted surfaces.
02. Fit before you cut
Use a correctly licensed template or measured paper pattern. Keep openings and moving joints clear. Cut on a work surface, not directly on the vehicle.
03. Test the full construction
Print, laminate and trial-cut a sample. Check edge behavior, small details and waste removal before setting your production parameters.
Before you choose
Can I use the same combination on every panel?
Not automatically. Confirm each surface and test the printed, laminated construction on the actual part. Different plastics, curves and contact zones may need different choices.
Can I apply graphics to a fuel tank or hot engine area?
These areas need separate compatibility evidence. Tell us about fuel exposure, the tank material and heat before selecting a film; the combinations on this page are not recommendations for those conditions.
